Jeff Bridges to join cast of Iron Man

The Iron Man film has nabbed another big name for its cast of Oscar winners and nominees.

This time Jeff Bridges joins the cast. He’ll be acting alongside Robert Downey Jr who plays the pivotal role of Tony Stark aka Iron Man as well as Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow as Stark’s secretary and Terrence Howard as a pilot and friend of stark. Jeff Bridges will play a character who is a close friend and business associate of Stark.

The film is based on the Iron Man comic books and explores how Tony Stark creates the iron suit that helps him fight his villainous foes. In the movie he will face the villain, The Mandarin.

Filming on Iron Man is scheduled to begin in March in Los Angeles with a planned release date of May 2, 2008. The movie will be directed by Jon Favreau.
