Scanners to be remade
David Cronenberg’s 1981 SF horror movie Scanners is going to be remade by Dimension Films. The original Scanners told the story of a weapons corporation trying to use people with telepathic and telekinetic abilities (Scanners) as weapons. Still don’t know what film I’m talking about? It’s the one with the exploding-head finale.
The film will be directed by Saw II director Darren Lynn Bousman. The film will be written by David Goyer who also wrote Blade and Batman Begins.
Dimension hopes to start production in early 2008 and release it later the same year.
