Aronofsky considers a darker Noah
The British Guardian newspaper has revealed that the director of the like-it-or-hate-it The Fountain is considering a biblical epic film will be a version of the story of Noah and the flood.
When the writer-director was 13, he won a United Nations competition at his school in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn; it was for his first poem, a little effort about the end of the world as seen through Noah’s eyes, the newspaper reported. “That story has interested me ever since,” Aronofsky told the paper.
Aronofsky has said that the script will not be conventional and it does sound intriguing to me. The director hints of a dark, complicated character who is trying to cope with survivor’s guilt in a lonely new world. Should be one to watch out for if he goes ahead with it.
