The new version of the Bionic Woman is doing very well for itself in the States. The show, which began on 26th September has become NBC’s highest Wednesday ratings among adults aged 18-49 since 1999’s The West Wing. The show drew 13.6 million viewers.

The show stars Michelle Ryan (of Eastenders fame) as Jaime Sommers a bartender and surrogate mother who after nearly getting killed in a car accident receives a butting edge operation that leaves her with advanced bionic prosthetics and implants with extraordinary new strength, among other artificially enhanced gifts.
13.6 million viewers.

I think the new Bionic Woman show is very well done. The effects are not too overly done, and the acting is good.

Quite true. The only thing it lacks that would make it a long running superstar series (as does the producer’s Battlestar Galactic remake) is a fraction of the original’s charm.

I agree that the show is done well, but I remember the original Bionic Woman with Lindsey Wagner (sp?)as Jamie Sommers. Though it’s not bad, this new version doesn’t do it justice.

Bionic implants :) I don’t see how that will increase her super powers but it should make good viewing.
