Yes he has. however in the fall of 2004, Shatner released a new album entitled Has Been, produced and arranged by Ben Folds and with songs composed by Shatner and Folds. The albulm has been critically acclaimed for its unique “pop” style. Its  cover, a version of Pulp’s “Common People” performed with Joe Jackson, has received good notices, often to the surprise of the reviewers. In fact it still stays the top searched Shatner related subject.  “Common People” is a song by English alternative rock band Pulp. It was released as a single in 1995, reaching number two on the UK singles chart. It also appears on the band’s 1995 album Different Class. The song is about those who were perceived by the songwriter as wanting to be “like common people” and who ascribe glamour to poverty.
