In 1992, the Danbury Mint introduced a Doctor Who chess set under licence from the BBC, and collectors got the 38 pieces of the original set sent to them on a bi-monthly basis. Once this set had been collected, they next offered an expansion set of a further 28 pieces which coincided with the arrival of the 8th reincarnation of the Doctor, a film starring Paul McGann.

Castellan is the Time Lord in charge of security on Gallifrey, and if used on the chess board is a bishop for the Forces of Good, hence it’s red base. It is 75mm high, weighs 137 grams and is in perfect condition. I have studied the piece carefully and can find no flaws on it.

This piece is very rare and will create much interest amongst Doctor Who collectors.

P+P is for this item suitably packaged (bubble wrapped and boxed) but without any additional insurance, tracking or guaranteed delivery, which I’m contented to add at the buyers cost if requested. I am happy to send the package anywhere in the world by airmail, cost on application to the successful bidder. Any buyer is welcome to attend my home in Nantwich to collect their purchase.

PayPal is the preferred method of payment for the UK and the only accepted payment option for an overseas buyer. I always aim to despatch the package within three working days of cleared payment. I will accept returns, but I’m sure any collector will be delighted with the condition of this chess piece.

However, I will not negotiate over the piece if a flaw is detected; the only option is to return the piece to me and I’ll give a full refund.

If you have any queries about this item or the expansion set, please do not hesitate to email me.

Thanks for your interest and happy bidding.
