Bell to join Heroes not Lost

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

So it had been rumored for some time that Kristen Bell, star of Veronica Mars would be joining the cast of Lost. This turns out is not the case. Instead she will appear in a number of Heroes episodes according to Variety.

Bell will play the role of Elle who is involved in Claire’s future and is also connected to Peter and H.R.G. Her character will start to appear in the show in October.

“This was not easy to pull off,” show creator Tim Kring told Variety. “But since we’re an ensemble show, with many arcs playing out through the year, we found a way to jump into a small window in her schedule.”

BBC nabs second season of Heroes

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

The BBC has picked up hit sci fi drama Heroes as an exclusive for its second season. The broadcaster is thought to have paid around £400,000 an episode for the second season of the show.

The new deal represents a five-fold increase on the amount the corporation paid for season one, which will air on BBC Two over the summer.

Sci Fi Channel had first-run rights to season one, but was forced out of the bidding for season two as the price tag rose.

Season two will now air on both BBC Two and digital channel BBC Three from next year.

So is this good news? Hopefully yes. It’s the BBC so that means we get to watch the greatness that is Heroes but without annoying ad breaks and everyone can watch the show together without some having to wait longer (those who don’t have Sci FI).

Heroes: Zeroes Auditions

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

It looks like more ordinary people with ordinary abilities have been discovered. Here’s a clip from the open auditions for the American Sci-Fi series Heroes on NBC.

The clip features some guy pulling a chain out of his nose (burn out), a woman playing the flute with her nose (don’t laugh, that’s someones mom), a guy who can pop beans out of his eye (that’s sexy), an Indian woman who can talk with a perfect Indian dialect (amazing!), a psycho who can stab a potato with a straw (very scary), and more…

I’m pretty sure no one from these open auditions will be saving the world with their “special” talents.

Heroes and Zeroes

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Heroes is going digital. The hit American TV series on the the NBC network is relaunching its Web site with new interactive features coinciding with a batch of new original on-air episodes. NBC hopes the multiplatform strategy will deepen the “Heroes” mythos with additional content for Internet and mobile applications.

Some of these new digital offerings include a real-time, two-screen application that plays out on the PC along with each episode, commentary from cast members set to streamed episodes, and mobile content.

NBC is even making special viral clips to help promote Heroes on video sharing sites like Vmix and YouTube. The latest Heroes clip is a parody called Zeroes about ordinary people with relatively pointless abilities. Check it out on Vmix or YouTube. If you are a fan of the show you’ll really enjoy it.
